The Centre for the Study of the Renaissance (CSR) at the University of Warwick is pleased to invite Expressions of Interest from highly qualified researchers in the field who seek to apply for a British Academy International Fellowship, tenable in the Centre. The CSR is a buoyant hub of interdisciplinary research, with a well-established international reputation. Specialisms range from the Middle Ages to the seventeenth century, in particular covering Italy, France, Spain, England, the Holy Roman Empire, and their territories.
Particular strengths of CSR members include literature, intellectual history, social and cultural history, history of the book, history of religion, history of science and medicine, history of art, history of universities, epistolary networks, history of translation, the relationships between Neo-Latin and the vernaculars, and the classical tradition. Colleagues who are able to mentor can be found here, under 'academic staff': https://www2.warwick.ac.uk/fac/arts/ren/about_us/centrestaff/
By (and preferably before) noon on Monday 16th February 2026, interested applicants are invited to complete the Expression of InterestLink opens in a new window form, and attach the following documents where indicated:
- a short description of their proposed project (maximum 2 A4 pages)
- a copy of their CV (maximum 2 A4 pages), with indication of numbers of words for items in press
Please note: preliminary enquiries with a curtailed set of documents (draft project + CV) are very welcome (please contact Teresa Grant); the sooner you are able to start working with one of our staff on your expression of interest, the better. The BA deadline is 11th Mar 2026 - 17:00 GMT.
